2-9 Error Terror

Contents

Error Terror takes a light-hearted approach to writing skills, practising the proof-reading skills of finding text errors in a fun arcade-style game.

The player has to defend a home planet, at the bottom of the screen, from an "invading" text, which includes errors, coming down from the top of the screen. As the text moves down the screen, the player has to identify and delete the errors by "shooting" them with the laser guns on their spaceship. If they fail to identify and delete all the errors, and allow the invading text to reach the planet, they lose, and their planet is invaded.

There are twenty passages that come with the programme, each between 100-200 words, containing 20 spelling errors. Alternatively, the same texts, including extra words, can be used.

You can choose from different levels of language ability.

The program is fully authorable, giving teachers the opportunity to add to the existing database of passages with their own, to give their students an interesting and motivating alternative to a classroom lesson or self-study activity.
